A raiser from the Russian land. A story.
There was a railway station near the village of Boba. Every train passing by stopped at this station for one or two minutes.
Boba came to this railway station for a couple of hours every day. Then he did what he liked.
He was arriving to the station with three beautiful plastic boxes.
Boba used two boxes to make legs (supports) for an improvised table. Boba was placing a third box on top of these two boxes and was filling the third box with pies of carrot or cabbage stuffing.
In addition, Boba was bringing one pie made from good dough with a natural mouth-watering meat filling.
One day, a boy from a neighboring family went to the railway station with Boba.
The boy was surprising: who will buy pies with carrot filling?
A passing train stopped. Boba loudly informed the passengers: excellent meat pies! Only fifty rubles for a one pie!
After the announcement, Boba took a pie with delicious meat, smelled it, admired the smell and took a bite with pleasure.
The train stop is over. The train started moving.
- Who wants a meat pie!? Boba shouted loudly.
An answer came from the open window:
- Give me! I want!
Boba took a carrot pie from a drawer and threw it in through the open window. The pie was in a simple transparent plastic bag, so it was not afraid of falling to the floor of the train carriage.
- Throw the money! Boba shouted. - Fifty rubles!
A bit of paper (a fifty rubles bill) flew out of the window of the speeding train.
- Is it so simple? - the neighbor's boy was surprised.
Boba smiled:
- Try it yourself!
Another train came and stopped.
The boy screamed:
- Who wants a meat pie!? Fifty rubles for one pie!
A passenger got out of the carriage and approached the boy.:
- "Good pies?"
The boy showed the passenger a meat pie.
The passenger took out fifty rubles and handed them to the boy.
The boy gave the passenger a pie with a filling of grated carrots.
The passenger took a pie, broke it and prepared to eat it.
There was a carrot filling inside the pie.
- "What is this?" - the passenger was indignant.
The resourceful boy found an answer.:
- Sorry, I took the wrong pies from my home!
The passenger threw the broken pie back into the plastic box. He glared at the boy, turned his gaze to Boba, who was standing next to the boy, and spat to the side. The passenger took his fifty rubles from the boy and returned to the carriage.
The train left.
The boy was silent, confused. He asked Boba:
- Is it a wrong thing to do that?
- Now a lot of birds have died because of the fuel oil (mazut). The surviving birds are hungry. Passengers throw my pies out the window, it's a food for birds. I am a raiser [collector, reaper] from the Russian land. I save the birds. I benefit nature and people.
The boy was thinking about something and was silent.
The train stopped.
Boba walked along the platform and shouted:
- Who wants a meat pie!?
He defiantly took a bite out of the meat pie and sniffed the delicious pie with pleasure.
The train stop is over. The train started moving.
An answer came from the open window:
- Give me! I want!
Boba took a carrot pie from the plastic drawer and threw this pie through the open window.
- Throw the money! Boba shouted. - Fifty rubles!
A piece of paper (a fifty rubles bill) flew out of the window of the carriage of the speeding train.
- "I'm going to get some coffee!" Boba said. "Are you staying here?"
- "Yes," the boy replied.
- "For every pie you will sell, you will give me twenty-five rubles. You agree?"
- I am agree.
Boba went to get a cup of coffee.
