The Monologue about the U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and about the peace Treaty of Versailles

The Monologue about the U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and about the peace Treaty of Versailles

On June 28, 1919, a hundred years ago, the Treaty of Versailles was signed.

  What its value?

The Treaty of Versailles, I think, was - in part - the embodiment of the faith of U.S. President Thomas Woodrow Wilson in a human mind and in a human desire for good.

The Fourteen Points of Woodrow Wilson, made public on 8 January 1918, and partially embodied in the Treaty of Versailles, will remain a monument of political philosophy and practice, a monument of enormous importance.

To some extent, we are using the fruits of this policy now.

The mankind, anyway, solves a number of problems, using those ideas in which Woodrow Wilson believed.

However, over the years since the conclusion of the Treaty of Versailles, humanity has repeatedly questioned both the reasonableness of huge masses of people and their desire for good.

Winston Churchill is involuntarily remembered up. Philosophy..., Leo Tolstoy, nonresistance to the evil with a violence..., advanced moral principles of mankind. But centuries-old experience of management (it is possible to count since the Roman Empire) is a reality.

Naturally, I personally was not familiar neither with Woodrow Wilson, nor with Winston Churchill. Having respect for both of them, based on the read biographies, I sympathize with Woodrow Wilson more. However, more I believe in political practicality of Winston Churchill.

Woodrow Wilson has done much, very much for Russia. So much, that she herself may not understand it. Was Russia grateful to him for this? She remembers him? Is there at least one monument to Woodrow Wilson in Russia?

Looking at the results of the Versailles peace Treaty "from Russia space", we can note such a new reality (after this Treaty) as "European military-political defense strategy - using the global reality".

Many European countries evaded participation in large-scale and protracted hostilities during the Second world war. They kept the economy, housing, population. Their territory was occupied by the troops of Nazi Germany. Their governments emigrated to the UK, to the USA... The topic is complex and voluminous. Francisco Franco, for example, went a little different way, but he also evaded participation in the 2nd world war. He kept the population. Words are the words, but with the countries of the "Western world" Franco interacted quite harmoniously.

In General, there is something to think about.

Also let's tell "thanks" to Woodrow Wilson. He believed in a reason, in rationality of people and in their aspiration to good.

The Treaty of Versailles is 100 years old. Gradually, the mankind masters historical experience ...
