The staff of the Center of adaptation of marine animals in the bay of Srednaya in Primorye strengthened measures of protection after loss of three white whales and one killer whale. As the senior coach of the center Andrey Nasonov said to journalists, more escapes of animals will not repeat.
As previously reported, in the coastal Bay of Srednaya near Nakhodka in a special center of overexposure contained 11 illegally caught for sale (toward the China) orcas, there were 90 belugas. Later three Beluga whales disappeared, and last week it became known about the disappearance of one orca (killer whale). On this fact the police of the region began check.
"All white whales left through a rupture of a network obstacle. On killer whales I will not give comments in the interests of the investigation. But measures of protection were strengthened. More escapes will not repeat", - Andrey Nasonov told. According to him, the animals who are contained in the center adapted to the person, and their release to the habitat is accompanied by risk of their death.
On February 22 the Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an assignment to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation together with the scientific organizations till March 1 to decide destiny of the marine animals who are contained in the center of overexposure in Primorye.
Killer whales and white whales are included in the list of types of water bioresources concerning which restriction of an admissible catch is annually set.
